Meet Your Officers
Take a quick minute to get to know the 2024-2025 leaders in our lodge. When you see them around the Lodge, stop, say hi or ask questions if you have them.
We want to get to know all of the members!

I joined the Elks because I was looking for a worthwhile charity to donate my time volunteering. Someone mentioned the Elks and I looked into it and decided to join. It has turned out to be so much more. I've not only been able to volunteer for some wonderful charitable events, but I've met some wonderful new people that will be lifelong friends. It's one of the best choices I have ever made.

I joined the Elks ten years ago for the social aspect, like many of us do. I quickly found out there is much more to Elkdom than the Best People On Earth, and within months I was starting my three years of service as Esquire. I held various District, State, and Grand Lodge positions before deciding to start my journey through the Officer chairs in our Lodge. I have found this to be an incredibly rewarding organization, giving back to me with more than I put in to it. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving St. Helens Elks in the coming years.

I have been a member of the St. Helens Elks Lodge for just over a year and a half. I joined because I love the work the Lodge does for the community and it's member's. I enjoy volunteering and the is a great place to do that.

Sundee also served as chair of the Camp Meadowood Springs Program.

I am married to my wife of 30 years, Annette, who is also a member of this great lodge. Annette and I have three grown children. Once our children were grown and moved out, we both felt the need to find something constructive and helpful to do with our free time. I had heard of the Elks and all of the great things they do for our local community, so I joined the St. Helens Elks lodge in 2021.
In March of 2022, I was in an officer involved shooting while responding to a call for service. The members of this wonderful lodge surrounded me in brotherly love and friendship. This was the turning point for us, the moment that we felt such a kinship with our Elks brothers and sisters. I am proud to serve this lodge and this community.

I became a member of the BPOE four years ago. However, I was an Elk in spirit long before I officially joined. I'm married to my best friend, Mitch, and together we've raised four daughters. The most significant aspect of belonging to this lodge, for me, is that we engage with our community. We show up for our kids, Veterans, and each other. The most important component of the Lodge is YOU, your contributions matter, many hands make light work.

I joined the Elks in 2019 shortly after my wife joined. When my son was younger, I coached him in Little League and we were active in his sports, but as he's gotten older, we found there wasn't engagement in the community. We wanted to get more involved locally. We've not only done that but found friends that have become family.
We moved to St Helens in 2003 and I worked in retail management and loss prevention for 20+ years.
My wife is also very active and we both enjoy giving back as much as the fellowship.
Trustee 3rd Year

Father of three, Grandpa to four. Retired USAF. Joined the Gateway ELKS in 2007 after listening to my oldest brother, PER x 3, current Leading Knight, Napa CA Lodge #832, telling me of all the great things the BPOE does.

My Name is Eric Cook. I am a husband of 26 years and father of two. In my free time I enjoy camping with friends and family as well as working around our property. Born and raised in Forest Grove but have been a resident of Columbia County for the last 21 years. I am a machinist (24 years) and currently manage the machine shop at Pacific Stainless Products whom I have been employed for 13 years. I also fill the role of Union President for PSP Local 304. The last 18 years have been spent volunteering/coaching my kids sports and activities.
I am now looking for other ways to give back to the community and the Elks organization provides that avenue.
Trustee 5th Year

I joined the Elks lodge in 2023 to give back to the community and the membership. I have enjoyed working on various committees and have found doing so to be very rewarding. In these efforts I have found new friendships and gratitude in being able to help others seek their goals as an Elk. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving St. Helens Elks and our community in the future.
